The Kids Are All Right: The Movie is well
This surprising success in Sundance hit by a wave of momentum "Oscar season" and is committed to collecting multiple nominations. It has already won Best Film at the International Film Festival Berlin and three nominations at the Golden Globes. The film was well received by most critics with results in 94% and a sample Rottentomotos.com respectable box office.
There is much to like about the movie given the star power that welds in its most essential functions, two of my favorite actresses, Annette Benning and Julianne Moore. The film also shows the value in the profile of an ordinary family, and nonprimary the topics covered. My only problem with this film was that it played a little too much on the macro subject matter progressive and not enough on the strength of the film, their characters.
Nic and Jules (Annette Bening and Julianne Moore) are married and live the American dream of alternative family with teenage children, Joni and Laser (Mia Wasikowska and Josh Hutcherson). The "moms" gave birth, raised their children, and built a family of four. Joni, who is preparing for college, the promises of Lazer, his 15-year-old brother, who will use their "adult" status to find their "moms" sperm donor and schedule a meeting with him. She is reluctant to do so behind the "mother" again, but she gives to her brother, and his own curiosity. I finally found Paul (Mark Ruffalo), a freewheeling womanizer who runs a restaurant in organic basis. After discovering that like Paul, who confesses to meet the "mother" and ask if they would like to meet him. Children are attracted by the style unfettered confirmed bachelor is. But when Paul was about children who grow out of Nic, a doctor working under strict house rules. Jules, who has been looking to start a new career in landscaping, beginning a relationship with Paul, who quickly becomes an adventure. Over time children and Jules decide if you are satisfied with family life we have established with Nic or want a new one with Paul.
We just seem to short cartoons such persons in a drama that plays in less than a full summer in California. The story that unfolds seems to be one that would last for several years and not only solves the time Joni goes to college. I found myself in relation to Jules as he struggles to find herself in middle age while still remaining relevant to your family. But Jules, but does not seem to find a solution to their problems and requests to re-enter back into your life with Nic. Not that the resolution is always necessary in stories how are you, but I was expecting something more in the end due to the built form of the film the conflict. Perhaps this was handled in the way they are resolved as many real relationships where there is never a main peak, only time will cure. I especially liked the film, which was led by a great performance and, in turn leading large. Hopefully this has Cholodenko on the radar for more movies and I'll be waiting to see what he does next.
