The Ilsa LP will arrive back at Pirates Press on December 27th. So we should have it in our hands a couple days after that. We are in the process of getting a cart checkout system for the site, so that should be ready within the coming weeks, until then there will be info posted for ordering via email. We are hoping for a January First release, barring any unforeseen delays. A list of international distributors who will have copies will be up shortly.
Next will be the rerelease of the Stone Wings "Bird of Stone Wings" album on double LP. Majestic, melodic, sorrowful death doom from Australia, known from their split EP with the mighty Mournful Congregation. The album will be remastered for vinyl by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound. Layout will begin once all the source materials are at hand.
Following that will be a split EP between Ilsa and another band, who will remain unnamed at this time.
ILSA - Tutti il Colori del Buio LP release imminent.
The artwork and vinyl master have been sent off to Pirate's Press. The first press will be 300 copies on black 160g vinyl, all housed inside case wrapped, reverse board gatefold jackets. All pricing for both mailorder and wholesale will be posted soon. Anyone interested in helping with international distribution get in Contact. No firm release date as of yet, but hopefully it should be out around the new year. Here is the updated cover art in the meantime:
In talks with others about future releases as well. Stay tuned.

Three games with the Apostles of Contagion
So this past Saturday I was able to play three games with my 2,000 point Apostles of Contagion army.
Its not yet painted but the models are all built.
The army list was as follows: (I dont have th list with me so I am not sure of the points of some of the units)
HQ:
Necrosius
Company Command Squad - Vox Caster, Chaos Banner
Mortar Squad with Chemical Shells
2 Rogue Psykers of Nurgle with 2 rolls on the Psychic power table each
Elites:
6 Plague Marines with 2 melta guns
1 Champion with powerfist
in Rhino with extra Armor

in Chimera with multilaser, extra armor, and heavy flamer
Renegade Armoredfist Squad
Missile launcher, grenade launcher, vox caster
Champion with bolt pistol and meltabombs
in Chimera with autocannon, extra armor, and heavy bolter
21 Plague Zombies
21 Plague Zombies
21 Plague Zombies
Fast Attack:
Sentinel with autocannon
Heavy Support:
Basilisk Artillery Strike
NOTES on list:
The Rogue Psykers attach to the Armored Fist Squads and Necrosius rides with the 6 man plague marines squad.
The list is from the Siege of Vraks book 3 from Forgeworld.
The first game was against the Eldar.
It was 3 objectives, quarters deployment. I won the roll off for deploy first/ go first but of course he rolled a 6 for seize the initiative.
Luckily he had a poor first turn of shooting. He killed some zombies and stunned a rhino.
I moved two rhinos, a chimera and a squad of zombies forward into the quarter to my left. The central squad of zombies moved forward along with a rhino towards the quarter on my right. The rear squad of zombies moved up to take the objective in my deployment zone.
My plan in this game was to hold the objective in my deployment zone and move most of my army up to contest the other 2 objectives. The plague marines and the zombies along with one armored fist squads would distract/stall his army while trying to contest/hold the other two objectives. I would hold my own objective and see how it played out.
As the game played out he eventually broke through my forces and contested my objective on turn 4. I counter punched and killed a weakened wraithlord and a weakened squad of striking scorpions to push him off my objective.
My left flank pushed out and in the bottom of turn 5 one plague zombie held the objective in that left quadrant. We rolled to see if the game was over and to my luck it was.
I won 2 objectives to one.
It was a good game for me because i was beginning to see the strengths and weaknesses of my army. I was able to see just how good zombies and plague marines are in hand to hand combat.
Having fearless units with feel no pain is very nice.
I won the game, but it was by the skin of my teeth, one more turn and I would have been blown off the objective and lost.
The second and third games were against space marines. Mainly a foot slogging list with some dreadnoughts and and predator.
The first of the two games was a six objective game with a quarters deployment again.
This table was extremely heavy on terrain. Basically it came to down to the fact that I was able to take three objectives fairly easily because they were not easily seen by the marine player.
I shot him off of one objective by hitting him repeatedly with chemical mortars and the artillery strike. The other two objectives i didn't even try to contest.
I won the game three to two.
The last game was quarters again but only three objectives. It was more wide open and the marines showed their superiority in long range fire.
In the end we tied, we each had one objective and we tied the third.
Thoughts on the army:
The list I wrote up is fairly decent. It wouldn't win me any tournaments even if it was tourney legal. But I like it none the less.
The Chemical mortars are probably the best unit in the army. Ther ability to simply ikill whatever they touch short of terminators is impressive. They are probably underpriced.
The Artillery strike is so incredibly inaccurate that a unit standing on the marker for where it hits will probably be safe.
The Plague Marines are awesomely tough. I really like them. I hae never had a real chance to play with them before and I like them alot.
The Zombies are nice because of the number of them I have. 63 plague zombies can be quite the thorn in the side.
I still need to evaluate whether i like the 2 armored fist squads the way they are and the command squad. I may need to change them up adding different weapons and such.
As far as new units, I have a hellhound and up to three leman russes as well as another sentinel I could use. Just need to figure out how to fit them in.
Thats it for now.

Siege game PICS from RockCon
So another RockCon has come and gone. This year if you've been keeping up with my blog, we had two big floor games. I was in charge of the Siege of Mordax game. I created a scenario packet to detail how this game would be run. I came up with the deployment rules, the wall rules, and the reserve rules. I have to say I'm very pleased with how the game ran. Everything went very smoothly. I had a blast and seemingly everyone playing in the game did also.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this game. We were able to start rolling dice at 12:30pm and we played 7 full turns. We called the game finished at around 9pmish.
It ended in an attackers' victory but just barely. It came down to the bottom of 7 and the defenders' warhound titan firing and just missing one shot which sealed the victory for the attackers. Great close game.
Without further ado, here are some pics.
This game was a test game for the annual D-Company Big Game which is held every year in March.
I had some great feedback from the players involved and I am beginning to modify the rules for the big game.
It worked great and hopefully wih the tweaks it will be one of the best Big Games ever.

WALLS!! for RockCON!
I am building walls for the Siege of Mordax, a mega battle I am running at the forthcoming RockCon in Rockford, Il coming up October 23rd.
So far this is what I have accomplished for the walls.
First up this picture is the Styrofoam glued down to Plexiglass bases.
Next up is what I have completed as of last night.
I will keep updating my progress as RockCon gets closer!!

Contagion Movie by Steven Soderbergh
Director Steven Soderbergh is working on Contagion, an upcoming action thriller about a dangerous virus outbreak. The cast includes Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Marion Cotillard. The movie Contagion will be released on October 21, 2011.
Plot:
"The movie Contagion is an action-thriller centered on the threat posed by a deadly disease and an international team of doctors contracted by the CDC to deal with the outbreak."
Cast:
- Gwyneth Paltrow as Beth Emhoff, a business woman back from a trip in Asia and who's struck down by a mysterious ailment
- Matt Damon as Thomas Emhoff, Beth's husband, who's forced to care for his wife, and soon his step-son, as her condition worsens.
- Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Ellis Cheever, the head of the Center for Disease Control (CDC)
- Kate Winslet as Dr. Erin Mears, she works for the CDC
- Marion Cotillard as Dr. Leonora Orantes, a European doctor who's working for the World Health Organization
- Jude Law as Alan Krumwiede, a blogger with an unfortunate interest in conspiracy theories,
From what I heard, Steven Soderbergh's Contagion movie won't be a sensationalist sci-fi movie, it will actually be rooted in reality: what we'll see in the movie Contagion could definitely happen today. So following the recent H1N1 outbreak, this film may revive the public’s fear... But well it's just entertainment, and maybe it's for the best: we should not let our guard down! Potential virus outbreaks are just lurking around, waiting for their time...
Don't miss the movie Contagion when it comes out in theaters!

One weekend Two games
So this past weekend I got in two games of 40k. The first one was 2,000 points on Friday against daemons and the second was 2500 on saturday against nids.
So here is the list I ran for the friday game:
HQ -
Sorceror, mark of Tzeentch, gift of chaos, warptime, personal icon, terminator armor
(This is not an ideal build for him I know, I'm still playing with HQs and can't settle on one I like yet, I wish i didn't have to take one at all honestly! lol)
Elites -
5 Chosen - icon of chaos glory, 2 melta guns, 2 flamers
in rhino

Dreadnought - 2 ccws

3 Obliterators
2000points
He had roughly:
Epidemus
3 Fiends of slaanesh
2 nurgle princes
Kugath
3 squads of plague bearers
1 squad of nurglings
3 flamers
1 tzeentch character on a disk (dont remember his name)
Well, We tried the new spearhead deployment (the triangular one) and I deployed and won initiative. I Zoomed up my left flank towards the far objective.
He then started dropping in and by the end of my turn 4 all three daemon princes were dropped. I then had a relatively smooth victory by eliminating his troops with shooting/assaulting, never underestimate 10 chaos marines on the charge!
I ended up winning with two objectives taken to his one.
The game saturday was the game where we each had one objective in our own deployment zones. I knew this could be a tough fight, but I took my 2500 point list I posted on here with the berzerkers in it and was able to fight him to a draw.
Overall a good weekend of gaming.

So, I made the plunge finally.
I sent an exhaustively long email to Stelek over at Yes The Truth Hurts, introducing myself and giving him my two Ard Boys lists I posted earlier in this blog.
And now we await his response.
Hopefully he will be constructive. But I just really wanted to introduce myself.
So I'll let you all know his response.

This is something different I just came up with. I have units in here I never play with but maybe I'll give them a shot.

Heavy Support -

225 points
Predator with twin-linked lascannon and lascannon sponsons
165 points
Defiler
150 points
total : 2499
The point of this list is to attack the enemy head on. The two lords ride in the Landraider with the terminators and move towards the enemy every turn, dumping out hopefully within charge range and assault 3 different units. The 2 dreadnoughts and the rhino with berzerkers do the same.
Meanwhile, the rest of the army sits back and shoots, hopefully busting transports and vehicles with ease then hitting the juicy innards with battlecannon and plasma cannon rounds. The marines in the 4 rhinos are the late game objective grabbers, they stay in their rhinos all game unless they need to get out to blast away with rapid firing bolters at some point.
The other idea with this list is to give the enemy no clear idea of what to shoot at other than the main assault force. And the whole armry has different armor values hopefully making it more difficult to pick and choose what to shoot at with what.
So what do ya'll think of this one?

Alrighty, here are some pics
So here are some of the only pics I have of my new Nurgle Renegades for my Apostles of Contagion army.
The first pic is 4 guys, the one on the left is a squad leader with a bolt pistol, next to him is a vox-caster and then next to him is a grenade launcher.
Next up is a squad of Nurgle guys, we got the leader, a grenade launcher and vox caster guy and the missile launcher guy is cut off on the left side.
And finally is a picture with 3 of my chemical mortars, and you can see the missile launcher team behind them and also a sorcerer I will be using.
I don't know if I'm totally done with these guys yet, but thats why I haven't painted them yet. I tried to use the GW basing kit because it has some neat resin bits. They seem to have come out all right.
Anyone wish to comment?
Maybe I'll get my first comments on these pics...

Been kinda lazy as of late.
Ya, I haven't posted in a while, but here goes.
I bought a box of fantasy battle zombies which is the last of the zombies I need to buy for the Apostles of Contagion Army I am building.
I looked at the army list I had and decided to change it up a bit. I will have champions in each plague marine squad with powerfists and no combi-flamers on the rhinos.
One squad of Plague Marines will be only 6 strong and Necrosius will ride with them.
What I need to purchase for the army still:
2 Chimeras ( I am working on a deal to acquire these from a buddy of mine)
1 Renegade Nurgle Sorcerer ( i want to use the Fantasy battle nurgle sorcerer model.)
7 Plague Marines
What I need to build:
3 Rhinos
21 Zombies
3 Plague Marine Squads
1 or 2 Sentinels (depends on my final army list)
2 possesed models incase my sorcerers get possessed
3 Spawn models I started years ago but never finished.
So as you can see I still have some work to do yet.

Traitor Guard
So the next army I completed was actually an extension of my Iron Warriors. This new army is a traitor guard army based on the rules in the Siege of Vraks books from Forgeworld. I have units in the army from all three Vraks books, so when I play a game I have alot of variety of units to choose from, I have approximately 3,500 points.
The army has a Company Command Squad, 2 platoon command squads, and 6 10-man platoons of renegades. It also has a squad of 5 renegade ogryn bersekers, 6 hounds of Xaphan with ogryn handler, 2 squads of 10 disciples of Xaphan (veterans essentially), 3 mortars, 60 mutants, 22 plague zombies, 13 beastmen, 5 Enforcers (commisars essentially), 7 sentinels, 2 Lemas Russes and a Malcador Defender (its the 5 heavy bolter variant).
This army is quite fun to play as I have a lot of choices to build a 2,000point army. I like to fit in all the renegade guard squads if possible. The Company Command squad has a vox-caster which is used for spotting if I take an Artillery Strike.
This is essentially an allied renegade army that fights alongside my Iron Warriors, it is led by a renegade Tech-Priest.
Later I will post pictures of these units when I get a chance.

What armies do I play and why?
This post is about the armies I've chosen to play and why.
I have a huge Iron Warriors army totaling around 12,000 points.
I started building this army when the first Index Astartes article about the Iron Warriors was printed in White Dwarf. I can't remember when that was but maybe 8 years ago or so. They just captured my imagination. I liked the idea of a Chaos Marine army devoid of daemons, an army that was very similar to an imperial space marine army except they hated the Imperium and wanted to tear it all down. They excel in siege warfare and bring big guns and lots of marines and tanks to the battlefield.
That was my vision for the army, a huge mechanized marine force, with big guns. I think I've hit the nail on the head with my army. One thing to note, I only have 6 Obliterators and only 4 are painted in Iron Warriors colors. I never cheesed out the army list with the 3.5 Chaos Codex like alot of people did. I have never played in a game where I took all 6 Oblits that was under 5,000 points. In fact, at 5,000 points I usually only take 4.
Now a days, this army is just not as effective as it used to be. Its not really a competitive army at 2,000 points or below. The new chaos codex has gutted the flavor and options the old one has, and I've grown a bit weary of playing them, that's why I've branched out recently into new armies.
Stay tuned for the next post.....Traitor Guard.

A note on my style of wargaming.
When I started wargaming it was back in the early 1990s and I was in middle school. I got into Warhammer Fantasy Battle first. I bought White Dwarf and I bought and painted figures. I was never able to play anyone though. No one I knew was as interested in buying, assembling and then painting their army. But I didn't care I liked the miniatures and loved the background.
I am in this hobby because it IS a hobby. I am into 40k because I LOVE the background. I would have stopped playing a decade ago if I wasn't so in love with the gimdark 40k universe.
All of this makes me the type of gamer that I am. I build armies because of their fluff, and because I think they'd look really cool as an army on the tabletop.
My gaming group, D-Company is another reason I am so involved in the hobby still. We are a gaming group that doesn't have a store to game at. We game in our basements. Almost everyone in my group has their own table in their house.
Every year we put on events at Rock-Con, Rockford Illinois' annual gaming convention, and we also put on an annual 'Big Game' and this year it looks like we will be putting on a tournament as well.
Forgeworld and home-brew rules are welcome in my group. One thing we have been striving for recently is to play this game the way WE want to play it.
I recently did an experiment with one of my friends. I have been complaining about the new Chaos Marine Codex since it first came out. I think its deplorable how GW stripped it of everything that made the 4th edition codex cool. Well my friend and I did a test. I played an army built from the old codex and he played an army built from the current one. the result? a tie!
Anyway, that is what I mean, My gaming group is awesome because we allow stuff like in our ranks.
Well enough for now, I've published more stuff today than I probably should have in a whole week, but whatever.

Here is the army list I am building at the moment.
Now most might look at this list and scoff saying 'its not 5th edition worthy!' and I would probably agree. Thats not the point. One thing that anyone who reads my blog will begin to notice is that when I build an army, its not 1,500 points, its not 1,850 or even 2,000 points. My armies are built to be large. This 2,000 points is simply a beginning.

The Apostles of Contagion
So I made the plunge. For almost ten years now I've played Iron Warriors but now I'm gonna do something completely different. I'm building a Nurgle themed army. It will be based on the army list in the Siege of Vraks book III from Forgeworld as well as the Chaos Marine Codex.
My first goal is a traitor guard army with a heavy plague marine contingent.
I've already written an army list and have begun assembling the models.
I don't have any pictures yet, but they will be soon up here.
Necrosius will of course make an appearance as well.

This is my first blog.
This is the first blog I've ever created. This will chronicle my adventures in all thing 40k.
I will begin this blog with my newest army I've started to build, The Apostles of Contagion, hence the title of the blog.
I will also talk about other armies I've built in the past or armies I wish to work on in the future.
This blog will also be about my 40k RPGing, the GMing I'm doing and the tales of Inquisitor Raxxus.
I will do many other things on here as well, such as book reviews and the like.
